This was a purely typographic response to French novelist Georges Perec's 'Species of Spaces'. I used the text in three of the chapters of the book and included only formal elements such as tone, texture, shapes and lines. Because illustrations and images were prohibited in the brief, I wanted to play with the text and manipulate the compositions to look like shapes and patterns of words. The shapes resemble buildings and streets that Perec writes about. Furthermore, I made my piece look minimal with the type and colour choices focusing entirely on the layout of words.
